AVR DMX-512 Dongle

avr dmx-512 interface

A solder-it-yourself interface based on the Atmel 90S8515 microcontroller. It has 255 Output slots and 127 input slots. For schematics and firmware goto archive.org mirror of http://www.ele.tut.fi/~viikari/.

DMX receive and merging of received DMX frames and frames from the pc host can be toggled via software. You can program an initial cue which is transmitted upon interface reset.

Hardware configuration

To support input you have to configure your parallel port to EPP mode.

Synopsis

avrdmx [ parport=<num> ]
Select your parallel port with the parport option.

Configuration

The current status of the interface can be read from /proc/avrdmx. By writing the string PROGRAM into this file the currect cue is stored in the interface as the default cue.
DMX receiption and merge are controlled via the dmx4linux properties.
